Academy Leadership Scholars
Scholarship Description
The Academy Leadership Scholars merit scholarship program is awarded to up to ten qualified new students entering The Grosse Pointe Academy in grades five, six, seven or eight.
Applicants must demonstrate a genuine love of learning, strong citizenship and a sincere interest in extracurricular and community service activities. The Academy desires candidates who exhibit a strong work ethic, concern for others and show strong leadership potential.
Each Academy Leadership Scholars award will equal up to $10,000 of tuition support and will be redeemable for each academic year through recipient’s 8th grade graduation year. Academy Leadership Scholarships will be offered each school year to qualified new students.
Recipients will be chosen by a committee of administrators and faculty members. Along with completing the school’s standard online application and submitting the $50 application fee, applicants must complete an Academy Leadership Scholar Application questionnaire, submit two letters of recommendation (from someone other than a teacher or family member) and schedule a campus visit and interview.
To be considered for our Academy Leadership Scholar award, required applications and submissions, campus visits and interviews, must all be completed by June 1st for the upcoming academic year. Please note that scholarships will be awarded on an ongoing basis and The Grosse Pointe Academy reserves the right to close the application process once all scholarships for the school year have been awarded, which may be on or before August 1st.
