Student Council
A Student Council, composed of representatives from Grades 6-8 and the four elected officers, directs student activities and serves as a clearinghouse for new ideas about activities. The council works in conjunction with the Principal of the Middle School, the Head of School and the Faculty Advisor. Leadership opportunities are provided and encouraged in these groups as well as in numerous programs, including community service.

National Junior Honor Society
Middle School students are eligible for membership in the National Junior Honor Society if they maintain a GPA of 3.5 or above each trimester and demonstrate leadership, service, character and citizenship. Students meeting the academic requirements will be asked to complete an information form to give evidence of these qualities. A Faculty Council, appointed by the Principal, will carefully review the information sheets submitted by eligible students and make the final decisions for membership in the National Junior Honor Society.
An induction ceremony for new members of the National Junior Honor Society will be held on April 24, 2006 at 8:30 a.m in the Chapel. Middle School students and parents of the new inductees are invited to attend.

Honor Roll
Students achieving exemplary grades in their schoolwork will be eligible for academic Honor Rolls. To qualify for High Honors, students must have an A- average with no grade below a C-. Honors can be achieved by earning a B+ average with no grade below a C-.
Since all Academy students are expected to maintain a good citizenship code of behavior, recognition can be earned by receiving an evaluation of excellent or good in every area of the citizenship report. Students who receive a detention will be ineligible for the Citizenship Honor Roll.
Students who achieve both academic and citizenship honor rolls will become part of the Head of School's Honor Roll to further recognize their overall excellence as outstanding members of the school community.
