We are excited to offer two very special computer camps at the Academy this summer! The first camp will teach intermediate to advanced programmin in Scratch, an interactive programming environment from MIT. Since Lower School students already learn basic Scratch programming as part of the Academy technology curriculum, any student entering grades 3-5 in the fall can enroll in this camp. Students can choose to create a video game, art project or interactive story - or a combination of all three - during our week-long camp. At the end of the week, student projects will be posted on MIT's Scratch homepage and shared with the world!
Our second computer camp is for students entering grades 4-6 in the fall. It will introduce three-dimensional programming using Alice, an innovative programming environment from Carnegie-Mellon University. Using Alice, students will create 3-D animations for story-telling and simple 3-D games. Students enrolled in the first week may also enroll in the second wekk and learn more advanced techniques. Enrollment is limited to 8 students - so register early to reserve your spot! Click here for a registration form or contact Robert Rochte at rrochte@gpacademy.org for more information.
