Grosse Pointe Academy seventh grader Liam McIlroy and eighth grader Somers Brush were named Athletes of the Season for the spring of 2008. Each was chosen for this honor based on his or her athletic achievements, leadership abilities, academic performance and citizenship.

Liam was voted MVP for the boys’ varsity lacrosse team and is a scholar athlete. An honors student, he is on the citizenship list and Head of School list and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.

Somers was co-captain of the girls’ varsity soccer team and was voted most valuable player by her teammates. She is a scholar athlete, received high academic honors and is on the citizenship list and Head of School list. She is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
