Congratulations to the following middle school students who were inducted into The Grosse Pointe Academy Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society on April 21: sixth graders Derek Demkowicz, Gordon Fisher, Kara French, Kate Krueger, Allison Mobley, Robbie Triano, Kate Van Pelt, Jennifer Vermet, Luiza Wasilewski, and Zachary Wood; seventh graders Taylor Chuhran, Shavon McSwine, Giovanna Posselius, Lauren Schaller, and Conor Tily; and eighth graders Eddie Bridgforth, William Callewaert and Elizabeth DiMauro.
Membership in this Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a middle school student. Chapters in more than 5,000 middle schools across the nation strive to give practical meaning to the goals of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character.

These middle school students join the Academy’s current members of the National Junior Honor Society: seventh graders Abigail Boll, James Counsman, Dylan Demkowicz, C.J. Elliott, Brion Flick, Christopher Fowler, Amanda Heidt, Meade Maxwell, Liam McIlroy, Phillip Pierce, Gerard Smith, Jacquie Somes, Kate Wacker, Chandler Warren, Morgan Westwood, Katherine Woodward, and Jeffrey Woolstrum; and eighth graders Emmy Boccaccio, Rebecca Broderick, Henry Brophy, Somers Brush, Kendall Dixon, Lexie Fisher, Samantha Fitzpatrick, Anne Flick, Alex Parker, Elizabeth Penman, Grace Rentschler, Robert Stanley, Susie Stefani, Samantha Sternad, and Kelton Verble.
