Middle school students at The Grosse Pointe Academy have a cure for the February blahs: it’s called Spirit Week. Students showed their school spirit by dressing according to a theme and participating in a variety of fun, challenging and just plain silly competitions. For example, sixth, seventh and eighth graders tested their mental acumen during a trivia contest during Clash Day, challenged their endurance and physical fortitude by scootering, hula hooping, and hopping their way through an obstacle course during Pajama Day, and exhibited their creativity and team-building skills in a wall decorating contest during Class Theme Day, which was beach day for the sixth grade, the 70’s for the seventh grade, and video games for the eighth grade. A culminating activity was dodge ball with students against the teachers.
