A Visit Back in Time at the One Room Schoolhouse | Student News
March 5, 2010 - Fourth and fifth graders culminated their study of the Colonial times in social studies class with a visit to the Provencal-Weir House in Grosse Pointe Farms. The children dressed for the day in Colonial attire. Having made vests (for the boys) and bonnets (for the girls) in class, they then completed their costumes at home.

March 5, 2010 - Children in the Early School celebrated the March 2 birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known to the world as the beloved Dr. Seuss, in a number of ways. In a tradition she has been carrying on for many years, Mrs. Beth made green eggs and ham for her students, many of whom declared during their breakfast: "Say! I like green eggs and ham!"

February 23, 2010 - Seventh graders at The Grosse Pointe Academy had the opportunity to find out what it feels like to help others. On Tuesday, February 23 and Wednesday, February 24, the students participated in St. Paul's program for the homeless by serving breakfast beginning at 6:15 a.m.

February 12, 2010 - Middle school students have a cure for the February blahs: it’s called Spirit Week. Students showed their school spirit by dressing up in silly outfits for Clash Day, PJ Day and Twin Day and participating in a variety of fun competitions, such as the obstacle course, trivia challenge and talent show.
Bee Spells Success for Sixth Grader | Student News
February 2, 2010 - Sixth grader Jack Sheeren was this year’s school spelling bee winner after battling it out many rounds with fellow competitors in grades 4-8. Mya Vogel, a fourth grader, became one of the school’s youngest runners-up. This was Jack's second consecutive win; two years ago, in his debut performance as a fourth grader, he made it to the final three.
Loose Change Campaign for Haiti a Success! | All News
January 21, 2010 - Students at The Grosse Pointe Academy were challenged to help with the relief efforts in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti by bringing in loose change to fill jars placed in every classroom. The final tally of the amount collected has not yet taken place, but students and faculty have rallied to the challenge, and all the money collected by the end of the week will be donated to the Red Cross.
