Grosse Pointe Academy alumna Regan Chuhran had the opportunity of a lifetime on Thursday, October 23. She was invited to perform before the First Lady during a luncheon at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club honoring Congressman Tim Walberg.
“She didn’t miss a beat!” said her proud mother, Roshell Chuhran, who teaches music for Early and Lower School students at the Academy.

Regan was recognized before the guests by the Master of Ceremonies and again by Congressman Walberg. According to Roshell, the crowd was very appreciative of her efforts. “Many of them commented privately on how nice it was to have a local talent play for them and how much they enjoyed her music,” said Roshell.
After her early beginnings at age six under her mother's tutelage, Regan is in her third year of studying piano under Laura L. Lindow. Regan is also an accomplished classical and Spanish guitarist. She sings with her church choir and is a member of the "Knighting Gails" choir at University Liggett School, where she is currently a freshman. A 2008 graduate of The Grosse Pointe Academy, she was voted "Most Likely to Win a Grammy" by her classmates in her eighth grade yearbook.
