The 2006/07 Grosse Pointe Academy forensics team competed in the 5th/6th grade Eastside Catholic Forensics League meet held at St. Joan of Arc on Saturday, February 10 with outstanding results. The team earned four first places. Pictured are fifth graders Allison Mobley, who received a first place in the drama category, and Zachary Wood, who received a first place in the declamation category in each of the three rounds. In recognition of this achievement, Zachary was awarded a first place overall plaque.

Second place ribbons were earned by Dylan Demkowicz in storytelling, Allison Mobley in drama, and C.J. Elliott and Christopher Fowler in duo interpretation.
Third place honors were awarded as follows: Jalen Battle in poetry, Caleb Cimmarrusti in declamation, Conor Tily in prose, Dylan Demkowicz and Phillip Pierce in storytelling, the team of Kate Krueger, Kylier Love, Jackie Somes, Kate Van Pelt and Alexa Yates in multiple interpretation, and the teams of Joe DiMauro and Wade Penman and C.J. Elliott and Christopher Fowler in duo interpretation.
While the Academy has participated in the 7th/8th grade forensics meets for many years, this is the first time students have competed in the 5th/6th grade level, according to forensics team coaches Mary Jo Johnson and Harriett Whitaker.
