Field Day 2009

Posted: June 1, 2009

It was a sunny but not too hot day for the Academy's annual Field Day on Friday, May 29. Students in grades 1-5 competed in the traditional relay races, tug-o-war, and flag tag competitions, not to mention a hockey shootout, golf chipping and putting, a fireman's relay, and a muscle man contest, among many other games and challenges. Seventh graders helped organize the games for the younger children, and the kindergarteners had their own field day on the Moran lawn. Sixth graders were put to the test by their homeroom teachers with a variety of games that required skills of cooperation, such as untying a human knot.

The Nun's Walk provides a perfect setting for the putting contest.
