The 2007/08 Grosse Pointe Academy forensics team competed in the 7th/8th grade Eastside Catholic Forensics League meet at St. Thecla on Saturday, December 8 with outstanding results. Eighteen out of the 24 students who competed placed in at least one round, and overall the team earned nine first places.

Pictured with team coaches Mary Jo Johnson (on left) and Harriett Whitaker (on right) are, front row from left: the multiple interpretation team of Alex Parker, Michael McCuish, Somers Brush, Grace Rentschler and Robert Stanley, who received a first place in two rounds, a third place in one round and an overall second place based on accumulated points; back row: Samantha Fitzpatrick, who received a first and third place in poetry; Chandler Warren, who received a first place and two second places along with an overall first place in the impromptu category; and the duo interpretation team of Elizabeth DiMauro and Lexie Fisher, who received a first place in all three rounds and an overall first place with a perfect score.
Additional awards were given to Jack Crane in declamation (second place), Dylan Demkowicz in impromptu (second place), Katarina Goitz in storytelling (one second and two third places), C.J. Elliott and Meade Maxwell in duo interpretation (second and third place), Gerard Smith and Ryan Rochte in duo interpretation (second and third place), Liam McIlroy in poetry (two third places), and Karstan Minanov in drama (two third places).
