Grosse Pointe Academy eighth graders Walter Bridgforth, Libby Krueger and Jess Martinelli were named Athletes of the Season for the spring of 2007. Each was chosen for this honor based on his or her athletic achievements, leadership abilities, academic performance and citizenship.

Bridgforth was voted Bulldog of the lacrosse team by his teammates and is a scholar athlete and honors student. Krueger was co-captain of the girls’ varsity soccer team and was named one of the offensive MVPs by the coaches. A two-year varsity volleyball player, she was the best passer on the team this winter. She is a scholar athlete, an honors student and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. Martinelli was co-captain of the lacrosse team and one of the leading goal scorers. In addition to being a scholar athlete, he is on the school’s honor roll and a member of the National Junior Honor Society.
