Every GPA family received a copy of "Reflections," a history of The Grosse Pointe Academy and the Academy of the Sacred Heart by GPA students from the 2007-2008 school year. This book was put together under the guidance of Early School teacher Peggy Varty, who worked with the curriculum committee and all of the teachers to coordinate this inaugural project.

"Reflections" includes work from every GPA student from pre-school through grade 8. Each grade level was assigned a project regarding the history, alumni, architecture, or grounds of the school.

As stated in the introduction to the book, "Our children and staff appreciate coming to such a beautiful facility each day to learn and we felt it was important for the children to study the history and background of their campus environment.... We hope you enjoy your adventure through the pages of this book and get a glimpse into the history of our campus." The history of the school has been added to the curriculum for yearly study at each grade level.

Each family received a copy free of charge, and additional copies are available for purchase at $15 each. Please make out a check to The Grosee Pointe Academy and put "Reflections" in the memo section of the check. You may either pick up a copy of the book in Peggy's room or she will deliver it to your child's classroom. There are approximately 53 copies left so they will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
