Admissions Process

Candidates for admission to The Grosse Pointe Academy are selected on the basis of school reports, transcripts, personal recommendations, interviews with administration and faculty, and the results of entrance examinations. Qualified students, of diverse abilities and backgrounds, are admitted in all grades with available space.
Each year, the majority of admissions decisions for the fall are made prior to May 1. Thus, families interested in admissions for September are advised to begin the application process during the preceding winter.

Procedure
Interview:
This is usually the first step in the admissions process. Please contact the Admissions Director for an appointment.
Application and fee:
The application is to be completed and returned with a non-refundable application fee.
Transcripts:
An authorized transcript release form must be submitted to your child's school. That school will then send the official records.
Admissions testing:
All applicants for Grades 1-8 will be required to take an entrance test. An informal readiness test will be administered to all students entering the 5-year-old program.
When all required information has been received, your child's file will be ready for consideration. The Admissions Committee will act on completed files as soon as possible. You will then be notified of the committee's decision.
