The “doors” of learning re-opened in early September, and from that point on we have had a splendid year adapting to our new surroundings. From the Back-to-School Picnic through the month of September, it was so gratifying to see the expressions on the faces of the children as they experienced their new building. The spirit and pride were contagious and at a high level.
I am deeply indebted to the faculty for their perseverance, dedication and flexibility as we maneuvered through the last minute construction issues and clean-up. Many thanks go to the administrative team for countless hours of planning and adjusting to change. It was a gargantuan effort by all. Your thoughts, wise counsel and teamwork were the ingredients for the successful transition back to the main school building. Parents, thank you for your cooperation and trust. Obviously, everything came together, but your support was crucial throughout this process.
The impact of the building has been phenomenal. We have honored the past to secure the future. From the marvelous library/media center, to the state-of-the-art computer and science labs, to the increased square footage in each classroom, to an art area like no other in Michigan, we have provided excellence in learning environments. Please don’t forget another part of the campus, the Performing Arts Wing, which opened in February of 2006. We have also created a very safe campus with clear traffic patterns. On that note, we continue to upgrade all our procedures to ensure the safest environment possible.
